WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced that two proposed veterans homes in Minnesota’s Seventh Congressional District will receive federal funding under the department’s VA State Home Construction Grant Program.

“These communities have been working for more than a decade to get this done, and I am glad to see these projects finally nearing the finish line,” said Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-7). “I was honored to support these projects as a member of the Minnesota Senate, and I continue to support them today. They are going to make a big difference for veterans and their families in our state.”

The State of Minnesota will receive an estimated $26.9 million for a 72-bed facility in Bemidji and $31.2 million for a 72-bed facility in Montevideo. The State of Minnesota must accept the funds and complete additional application requirements before the grants are fully awarded.
