Willmar, MN - Each year, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach has the opportunity to nominate students to the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY.
This year, Congresswoman Fischbach nominated nine high school seniors for the service academies. If students are accepted, upon their graduation, the cadets will earn a Bachelor of Science degree and become commissioned as an officer in the U.S. military with a requirement to serve a minimum of five years in active-duty service.
“I am honored to nominate such remarkable students from Minnesota’s Seventh District to the United States Service Academies,” said Rep. Fischbach (MN-07). “It is encouraging to see young men and women with such promising futures feel called to serve our country. I join their families and communities in celebrating this achievement, and I look forward to watching them grow into the leaders of tomorrow. ”
The Congresswoman is nominating Christian Bachmann of Motley to the U.S. Military, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Naval Academies; Avery Browen of Detroit Lakes to the U.S. Naval Academy; Calvert Burkholder of Alexandria to the U.S. Military, U.S. Naval, and U.S. Air Force Academies; Ariana Doll of Frazee to the U.S. Naval and U.S. Air Force Academies; Ashley Eblen of Belgrade to the U.S. Air Force Academy; Ellie Gertken of Richmond to the U.S. Military and U.S. Naval Academies; Eli Hanson of Sartell to the U.S. Air Force Academy; Bjorn Messick of Fertile to the U.S. Air Force Academy; and Leo Nordick of Fergus Falls to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (not pictured).
