Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach met with the Association of Minnesota Counties and representatives from Big Stone, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Meeker, Reville, and Swift Counties in her district office in Willmar.  The group discussed the error rate in the SNAP Program and how the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on accurate numbers. They also talked about the need for updated technology to help them process and administer SNAP dollars. Rural counties have been facing increased challenges to their budgets after suffering from Biden-era inflation, which increased the costs of goods and services. Congresswoman Fischbach wants to ensure that we can maintain our rural communities and remove unnecessary government regulations that are threatening our communities. She will continue to look for ways to assist those in her district, without creating more regulations for them.
