Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Fischbach (MN-07) led Minnesota Republican Members of the House of Representatives Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-06), Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08), and Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) in a letter urging Governor Walz to immediately submit a Major Disaster Declaration request for the communities impacted by the recent flooding across Minnesota.
"The damage from this flooding has impacted many Minnesotan families. Homes, businesses, community buildings, and public areas are under water. We ask that you immediately request a Major Disaster Declaration to help unlock federal resources for these people," the letter reads. "Once your request is submitted, we will also call on President Biden and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to act swiftly to approve your request and get these resources to our state."
