WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07) joined Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08), Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), and Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-06) in sending a letter to President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, thanking them for taking action to deport convicted child rapist Tou Lue Vang from the United States.
Tou Lue Vang entered this country illegally and was convicted of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota in 2006. Despite his illegal status and the depravity of his crimes, Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison supported issuing a pardon for Vang this past June in an attempt to shield him from deportation.
Their letter reads (in part):
"Despite your mandate to remove the worst-of-the-worst from our nation, Tim Walz and his cronies have attempted to defy federal law and executive authority during both Operation Metro Surge and in the case involving Tou Lue Vang. Thus, their actions have continually placed our constituents in danger by endeavoring to allow criminals and gang members to walk freely amongst law-abiding Americans. Given Tim Walz and Keith Ellison's inexplicable despise for law and order, your campaign to rid illegal aliens from America has been desperately needed in our state.
"The contrast between this administration and the extreme, pro-criminal Walz Administration could not be clearer; you find, arrest, and deport child abusers. Tim Walz and Keith Ellison try, and fail, to stop you. As fathers, mothers, and elected representatives of Minnesota, we are grateful for your continued leadership and commitment to making our communities safe."
