Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07) reintroduced the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) Act, which will provide critical support to new moms during and after their pregnancy, empower women to choose life, and help them to raise happy, healthy babies.

"For many women, finding out you are unexpectedly pregnant comes with fear, and for some, abortion may feel like the only option. I am committed to empowering all women and ensuring they feel supported in choosing life," said Congresswoman Fischbach (MN-07). "The MOMS Act supports women before, during, and after they give birth. It improves access to resources and makes sure women have everything they need right at their fingertips to help them confidently carry to term and raise their child. As we go into Mother's Day weekend, I am so proud to introduce legislation that supports new mothers and their children."

“Being pro-life means supporting mothers and their babies during every phase of life. The MOMS Act offers vital resources and assistance during pregnancy and the earliest stages of motherhood and childhood to ensure mothers and babies receive the care and support they deserve.  We must ensure that all mothers receive the physical, emotional, and financial support necessary to carry their pregnancies to term, support themselves and their newborn babies, and ultimately choose life,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24).

“In New Ulm, my wife, Jackie, and I helped start a pregnancy center because we believe every life is precious, and women in our community should have access to the resources they need to have a healthy pregnancy,” said Rep. Brad Finstad (MN-01). “I’m proud to help introduce the MOMS Act, which makes critical improvements to prenatal telehealth care, and provides expectant mothers with resources and education, ensuring they feel informed, empowered, and supported.”

“As the father of six beautiful children, I know that all life is precious and must be defended. That’s why it is crucial that we provide expecting mothers with the essential resources and support they need to choose life and raise happy children. I am proud to join Congresswoman Fischbach in introducing the MOMS Act to help build healthy families and create a society that upholds the dignity of life,” said Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08).

“I’m proud to back the MOMS Act because no woman should be cornered into choosing abortion. This bill gives moms the resources, support, and confidence to choose life—and that’s always worth fighting for,” said Congressman Addison McDowell (NC-06). “When we fight for the most vulnerable, we show the best of America. We cherish the value of life and stand with the women who are the pillars of our communities, and that’s when true miracles happen.”

“Motherhood is one of life’s greatest blessings, and it’s critical that we provide expecting mothers with the resources they need to bring precious life into the world. The MOMS Act expands access to prenatal telehealth care, supports positive alternatives for women, establishes a central hotline and online resource center for pregnant women, and much more. This legislation is essential to protecting and encouraging life, and I’m honored to be an original cosponsor,” said Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger (TN-01).

“Being pro-life means supporting mothers — both while they’re expecting and beyond,” said Congressman Riley Moore (WV-02). “This comprehensive package does just that by ensuring access to telehealth services for prenatal care, expanding support for crisis pregnancy centers, and making sure fathers are held financially responsible for their children from the moment of conception. I’m proud to co-sponsor Rep. Fischbach’s MOMS Act.”

“When a woman finds out she is pregnant, she should be surrounded with resources and support, and feel confident in her access to care. I’m proud to co-lead the MOMS Act to help more women choose life, have a healthy pregnancy, and create the foundation for strong families. This legislation will save moms and babies and help advance a culture of life of America. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and this administration to support expecting mothers and growing families," said Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02).

“I’m glad to join Rep. Fischbach and my colleagues in support of the MOMS Act,” said Rep. Kat Cammack (FL-03). “As a first-time mom myself, I’m thankful for the resources and support I’ve received, but know not all women have the same access to pre- and post-natal services. Providing more opportunities for mothers to receive the care and support necessary to deliver healthy babies is critical.”

“As a proud pro-life and pro-family conservative, I believe we must do everything we can to support mothers and the miracle of life,” said Congressman Van Drew (NJ-02). “The MOMS Act provides essential resources to ensure women are not alone during and after pregnancy, offering the kind of real, compassionate support that empowers mothers and protects the unborn. I am proud to stand behind it.”

This legislation has the support of a number of outside groups:

“The MOMS Act is a vital step toward ensuring that expectant and new mothers receive the comprehensive support they need during one of life’s most transformative moments,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC). “This bill’s focus on improving maternal health care access, expanding resources for postpartum care, and promoting family-centered policies is a testament to the GOP’s commitment to the well-being of mothers and their babies. We wholeheartedly support the MOMS Act and thank Representative Fischbach for championing this critical legislation."
