POET, the world’s largest producer of biofuels, applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for their passage of their reconciliation package, which included a 4-year extension of 45Z clean fuel production incentives.
“45Z is a well-timed boost for our farmers, biofuel producers, and rural communities,” said Joshua Shields, POET’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “With a longer runway for the credit, we will have the certainty needed to invest in technology and integrate new practices to enhance American biofuels energy dominance and provide stronger domestic demand for farmers. Securing a critical 4-year extension in this package could not have been done without U.S. Representatives Randy Feenstra (IA-04), Michelle Fischbach (MN-07), Tom Emmer (MN-06), Ashley Hinson (IA-02), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01), Zach Nunn (IA-03), Darin LaHood (IL-16), Ron Estes (KS-04), Tracey Mann (KS-01), Mark Alford (MO-04), Adrian Smith (NE-03), Mike Carey (OH-15), Derrick Van Orden (WI-03), and countless other Midwest champions who fought for American agriculture and ethanol throughout this process.”
