Washington, D.C. - Today, the House voted on H. Con. Res. 14, establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034. Congresswoman Fischbach voted in favor of this framework.
"This resolution sets the framework to deliver on one big beautiful bill to extend the tax provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to provide tax relief to working families, secure the border and unburden American workers from unnecessary federal regulation," said Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07). "To be clear, the passage of this resolution does not cut any provisions to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, or anything else. It is a blueprint instructing committees to identify better investments and more savings to ensure the federal government is acting as a good steward of taxpayer dollars. I look forward to working with the Senate to deliver the best possible outcome and pass President Trump's one, big beautiful bill to deliver for the American people."
Background: Passing the Budget Resolution is one of many steps in the reconciliation process. Next, the House and Senate must agree to the same Budget Resolution before the Instructed Committees (Agriculture, Armed Services, Education & Workforce, Energy & Commerce, Financial Services, Homeland Security, Judiciary, Natural Resources, Oversight & Government Reform, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Ways & Means) draft their legislative recommendations.
