GVT had the pleasure of sending Mya Haaven and Jack Erickson of Fertile on an unforgettable journey to Washington, D.C. with the Foundation for Rural Service Youth Tour! With the FRS Youth Tour, students got a firsthand look at the telecommunications industry and explored some amazing historical sites. Mya and Jack have shared their experience from Washington, D.C. below.
“I had such a great time! One of the highlights for me was getting to meet all new people from around the country and create friendships that will continue beyond the Youth Tour. I really enjoyed the night tour of impressive monuments around Washington, D.C. and getting to experience the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I also got an up-close look at the political process when we got to meet our U.S. Representative, Michelle Fischbach. I made countless memories while on the FRS Youth Tour, it was an experience I will never forget. Thank you, Garden Valley Technologies, for the amazing opportunity!” said Mya Haaven.
“I want to thank Garden Valley Technologies for sending me on the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Youth Tour. It was an amazing experience. One thing I really liked was the opportunity to meet a bunch of new people and see how different and similar teenagers from other parts of the United States are. My favorite sight I got to see was the Changing of the Guard in Arlington National Cemetery. I also enjoyed meeting Representative Michelle Fischbach and appreciated her taking time out of her day to talk to us. Thank you for this great experience.” said Jack Erickson.
