WASHINGTON, D.C. (KVRR) — The House has passed a bill to rename the Roseau Post Office in honor of Floyd B. Olson.
He served as postmaster for twenty-five years.
The bill was introduced by Rep. Michelle Fischbach who called Olson a staple in his community.
In addition to his nearly thirty years with the Post Office, he was a member of Rose Free Lutheran Church, Vice President of Roseau County History Board, and on the Roseau County Fair Board for decades.
“He looked forward to his Thursday morning coffee crew. Loved the great outdoors and any time he could get out into nature. And took a special pride in his six grandkid, grandchildren and three great-granddaughters,” Rep. Michelle Fischbach of Minnesota.
Olson died in December of 2017 at the age of 86.
