A United States Congressional delegation visited Singapore on 6 September 2023. The delegation is led by Chair of the House Republican Conference, Representative Elise Stefanik (R-New York) and also comprises Representatives Jim Himes (D-Connecticut), Joe Wilson (R-South Carolina), David Valadao (R-California), Jake LaTurner (R-Kansas), Brad Finstad (R-Minnesota), Michelle Fischbach (R-Minnesota), Mike Flood (R-Nebraska), Laurel Lee (R-Florida), Zach Nunn (R-Iowa), and Rudy Yakym (R-Indiana).

The Congressional delegation called on Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Education Dr Maliki Bin Osman separately. During these meetings, both sides reaffirmed the long-standing and robust relationship between Singapore and the United States. DPM Wong and Minister Maliki welcomed the US’ commitment to maintaining its strong and sustained engagement of the region, including in the economic and security domains. They also had a constructive exchange on regional and international developments.
