Washington, D.C. - Yesterday, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07) introduced the Hardworking Seniors Act.
"Across the country, hard working seniors have been unable to contribute to their health savings account (HSA), because they have begun receiving Medicare," said Rep. Fischbach. "Seniors across Minnesota's 7th District have reached out for my help, and I am proud to introduce the Hardworking Seniors Act, straightforward legislation that helps America's working seniors who are enrolled in Medicare Part A to continue making contributions to the HSA provided by their employer's plan. I will continue to listen to the needs of my constituents and work on the complex issues in support of seniors' rights."
“Our seniors have worked hard and paid taxes their entire lives and they deserve to have access to the best health care options and savings available,” Rep. Malliotakis said. “With people working into their golden years, I’ve joined Rep. Fischbach in introducing legislation to allow seniors enrolled in Medicare Part A to make contributions to Health Savings Accounts and receive the tax benefits that go with it.”
