On Monday, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach, the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s Seventh Congressional District, was reappointed to the Rules Committee by Speaker McCarthy.
Originally formed in 1789, the Rules Committee is responsible for determining the means by which the House considers legislation, as well as the chamber’s rules. Congresswoman Fischbach was originally appointed to the committee in the 117th Congress, the only Republican freshman to do so.
“I am looking forward to continuing to serve on Congress’ oldest standing committee,” said Rep. Fischbach. “I am eager to serve as a voice for rural Minnesota on a committee that sees every piece of legislation that comes to the House Floor, and to restore accountability, transparency, and normal order to this institution.”
