WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.Con.Res.11, a budget resolution that provides a framework for Democrats to unilaterally pass stimulus legislation. In response, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-7) issued the following statement:

“This is not a budget resolution; it is a dishonest power grab by the Democrat majority designed to skirt the rules so they can advance their liberal agenda. It allows the Democrat majority to plow forward with expensive, radical policies of the socialist left under the guise of ‘pandemic relief,’ and ignores the rights of the minority party. This is not the ‘unity’ that Democrats and President Biden promised.

“This budget resolution was rushed to the floor absent the prescribed process and without any input from Republicans. With more than a trillion dollars in unspent funding from previous COVID relief packages, we should be focused on putting that money to work for the American people before spending trillions more.”
